Born and raised in Ogden, Utah, Hailey was born with the desire to serve and help others. Hailey’s motivation in writing “Smiley Riley – Arthritis In Motion” stems from her personal experiences of fighting Juvenile Arthritis since her diagnosis at the age of 15. As an active tennis player, Hailey fought to stay active and faced the setbacks with a smile. She came up with the motto Arthritis In Motion (AIM); which stands for living life to the fullest, despite adversity. Despite the setbacks of arthritis, Hailey worked hard to make her dream of playing college tennis a reality. With the help and support of doctors, coaches, trainers, friends and family, Hailey played tennis for Brigham Young University – Hawaii and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She is married to the love of her life, McKay Krey, who is her number one fan and biggest supporter. Hailey continues to share her story and help other kids and teens affected by Juvenile Arthritis. She hopes that the story of Smiley Riley will bring hope and encouragement to all children fighting juvenile arthritis.
